Waitaki Newcomers Network
Our Mission
Whiria te Tāngata – Weave the People Together to create a multicultural community of people living in harmony.
Our goal is to reduce challenges for people who are new to Waitaki and to increase their capabilities to transition and settle successfully in their new home environment.
Activities and Events
Waitaki Multicultural offers a vibrant range of activities and events throughout the year to support connection, learning, and community building. Our weekly programmes include the English Conversation Class, Family Connect, Active Movement Programme, and Newcomers Coffee Group, each providing opportunities for social interaction and cultural exchange.
We also host a monthly Migrants Meet & Share gathering, where newcomers can connect and share experiences, and our much-loved annual Festive Feast, which celebrates the diversity and togetherness of our community.
In addition, our Migrant Musings Podcast features interviews with migrants who share their personal stories and experiences of settling and living in New Zealand.
