About us
The Aoraki District is situated within South Canterbury & included is the Timaru District. This area is bordered by the gently curving South Canterbury coastline & the Southern Alps. The region includes many inland lakes, attractive towns, lush pastures, rolling hills & clean rivers.

My name is Katy Houstoun and I am the Timaru Newcomers Network Co-ordinator.
Having spent over 10 years travelling and living in different countries I have an understanding of some of the issues people who are new to an area can encounter.
That is why I am really glad that through my role I am having the opportunity to now assist newcomers to settle in this region, helping them to make friends, having fun together and to gradually help them feel they are valued members of our community.
